Choudrant, La. - It was a tale of two rounds Monday for the Nebraska men's golf team at the Squire Creek Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech. After shooting a season-best round of 287 in the first round and finding themselves in third place, the Huskers struggled to a second-round 300, which dropped them into 13th place in the 16-team field after 36 holes. Nebraska is at 11-over-par 587, 20 strokes behind the leaders, LSU and New Orleans, heading into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Mike Coatman paced Nebraska with a one-under-par 143 and is tied for 18th. Andrew Wyatt is tied for 27th with a one-over-par 145. Tyler Parsloe is tied for 52nd at 149. Senior Mark Pillen, playing in his first tournament of the season, is tied for 67th with a 151. Austin Zimmerman, at 163, rounds out the Husker lineup in a tie for 73rd.
The final round will begin Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
