For the third straight season under coach Doc Sadler, the Nebraska men’s basketball team will hold open tryouts for potential walk-on student-athletes. University of Nebraska college students looking for a chance to help the program will be able to work out for the Huskers on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
The tryouts will be held at the Bob Devaney Sports Center promptly at 7 p.m. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. To join the tryout, male students must be enrolled full-time at the University of Nebraska with a minimum of 12 credit hours this semester. A current, official schedule must be provided at the registration table before the start of the tryout.
Hopeful walk-ons must also have had a physical within the past year and must bring a copy of the physical results or obtain a doctor’s signature on the tryout form. The tryout form, available here, must also be provided at the time of the tryout.
For more information on the tryouts, contact Director of Basketball Operations Chris Croft at (402) 472-2265.
Nebraska already has 18 players on the 2008-09 roster, including five current walk-ons. Because of the roster size, there will be limited walk-on spots available for the upcoming season.
