Lawrence, Kan. - Nebraska sophomore Mike Coatman continued to play confident golf during Monday's first round at the Kansas Invitational at Alvamar Golf Club. Coatman scored an even-par 72 en route to a tie for 4th place. The co-leaders shot 69 for the round. Nebraska as a team shot 298 and is tied for 7th at the 16-team tournament.
Brandon Crick is just one shot back of Coatman at 73 in a tie-for-11th place. Brett Sundberg also shot 73 and is tied for 11th, but he is competing as an individual, so his score does not count toward the team score.
Tyler Parsloe shot 76 and is tied for 31st. Chris Bruening posted the best front-nine score of the entire field with a 33, but his back-nine 44 left him in a tie for 52nd at 77. Scott Willman shot 78 and is tied for 60th.
