Oxford, Miss. ? Nebraska posted a pair of wins UAB on Saturday, totaling a 4,606 over Ole Miss (4,573) and UAB (1,989). Sophomore Amanda Jeffries starred for the Huskers, winning both the air rifle and smallbore titles with scores of 589 and 578, respectively.
In the team competition, NU topped the charts in both disciplines, notching scores of 2,272 in smallbore and 2,334 in air rifle.
In addition to Jeffries’ top finish in air rifle, sophomore Christine Costello earned runner-up honors with a 587. Freshman Elisha LaFond added a 582 for fourth, while senior Kim Chrostowski placed sixth (576).
Nebraska’s smallbore effort also included a third-place finish from Chrostowski (567), and Costello followed up in fourth place with a 564. Senior Kirsten Weiss placed seventh with a mark of 563 on the day.
Costello posted a score of 574 in smallbore, as well as a 585 in air rifle for fourth place. Jeffries and McGough matched each other with marks of 588 in air rifle, and Jeffries also put up a 558 smallbore score.
In the team competition, the Huskers topped the Falcons in both disciplines, outshooting Air Force with team totals of 2,347 (air rifle) and 2,272 (smallbore).
Nebraska returns to action tomorrow in a match with Memphis in Oxford, Miss., at 8 a.m.
