Lincoln ? Former Husker soccer player Jessie Bruch will be among the 45 Nebraska student athletes to earn their degree this Saturday, Dec. 22, during fall commencement at the BobDevaneySportsCenter.
Bruch, a native of St. Louis, Mo., was known for her dominant midfield play during her time with the Huskers. At 5-11, her physical presence made her a target on set plays and a threat to defenses. Bruch made 71 starts for NU in her career, racking up 22 goals and five assists.
Perhaps Bruch’s biggest goals came in the 2005 Big 12 Tournament, where she finished with three goals and six points to be named to the All-Tournament team. Her nine goals in her freshman campaign in 2003 earned her a spot on the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team.
Bruch also spent time training with the U.S. Under-19 and Under-21 National teams in 2003.
In the classroom, Bruch was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll last spring and the Academic All-Big 12 second team this fall. She graduates with a degree in animal science.
