Huskers Conclude Fall Season At Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate

Las Cruces, N.M. -  The Nebraska men's golf team finished 16th out of 17 teams at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Huskers finished with a final team score of 901 in the last tournament of the fall season.

The Huskers were led by a very balanced lineup. Mike Coatman, Tyler Parsloe and Trent Price all shot 227 to lead the Huskers. Mark Pillen and Chris Bruening were just one shot back at 228.

Bruening tied a season-best with a 72 in the final round. Parsloe also matched his season-best with a 73 in the final round.

Sergio Franky of Texas Tech was the individual champion, shooting an 11-under-par 202. Kansas State's Joe Ida finished second at 204.

Texas Tech recorded an 831 to take home the team title. UT-Arlington finished second and Kansas State and Nevada tied for third.

The Huskers will begin their spring season February 18-19 at the Rice Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
