Opening Statement
On the game
First of all, I would like to congratulate Texas on their win. Our guys gave everything they had and left everything they had on the field today. I think we can build on that as we get ready for Kansas. They gave a great effort today. That’s all I can talk about is the effort this team gave. Texas made the plays that we did not make in the second half. I thought the reverse hurt us in the second half for a big play. We tried to really push the ball vertically down the field and it really paid off in the first half and the early part of the second half. You ask your team to empty their tank and they gave everything they had today. We just came up on the short end of the stick. I am awfully proud of these players and the effort that they gave today.
On Colt McCoy running out of the gun
Texas has always run the ball out of the shotgun. That is their core offense grind. You can go back years into Greg Davis’s history and see that it is evident that they do run the ball out of the gun. I give Colt McCoy credit after coming out of the game, he came right back in and make a big run. He has a lot of guts and courage. He came right back in and played well.
