The 1997 Cornhuskers capped one of the most amazing runs in college football history by claiming the schools third national title in a four-year span. In Hall of Fame Coach Tom Osborne's final game on the sideline, Nebraska rolled to a 42-17 victory over No. 3 Tennessee in the Orange Bowl to complete a magical season.
In anticipation of Nebraska's 10-year reunion for the 1997 National Championship team in Lincoln on Homecoming, Oct. 13, 2007, against Oklahoma State, Huskers.com will take you on a game-by-game journey through the season. Each day, Huskers.com will provide you with one game in Nebraska's journey to the title.
This page also provides you with a complete story, roster, results, team photo and a highlight video of the 1997 champions.
We invite everyone in the Husker Nation to welcome their 1997 National Champions back home to Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 13, when the Huskers take on the Cowboys at 11:30 a.m.
