Two Huskers Earn Scholastic All-American Honors

Two Nebraska bowlers earned National Tenpin Coaches Association Scholastic All-America honors for their outstanding academic achievements.

Redshirt freshmen Kalyn Washburn and Stephanie McGinnis were among 68 bowlers from 18 schools across the nation to be named Scholastic All-Americans.

McGinnis, a business administration major, competed in one tournament for the Huskers during the 2006-07 season .  She earned a spot on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in addition to her NTCA award.

Washburn, an English major, was a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and was a member of the 2006-07 Student-Athlete Advisory Board.

NTCA selects athletes who maintain a 3.4 grade point average or higher during the previous academic year for the prestigious Scholastic All-American honor.
