Edlefsen, Seely Reinstated by Big 12 Conference

OKLAHOMA CITY - After a detailed review, including interviews with involved parties, the suspensions of Nebraska student-athlete Steve Edlefsen and assistant coach Justin Seely following yesterday’s 5-1 loss to Kansas State in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Baseball Championship have been lifted.

The action to lift the suspensions is consistent with interpretation issued by NCAA secretary-editor Jim Paronto that permits conferences to review such situations and correct an improper application of the rules.

University of Nebraska Baseball Coach Mike Anderson issued the following statement following the Big 12’s announcement Friday evening:
“I want to thank Commissioner Weiberg for reviewing the situation and lifting the suspensions.  Nebraska is proud to be a member of the Big 12 and always try to represent our University in the finest possible manner."
