The Nebraska men's golf team travels to Hutchinson, Kan. April 23-24, for the 2007 Big 12 Men's Golf Championships, to be played at the par-70, 6,596-yard Prarie Dunes Golf Course. Nebraska's lineup includes seniors Brady Schnell, Drew Reynolds, Ty Capps, Ryan Lenahan, and freshman Jamie Marshall, a squad that has consistently led the Huskers to four top-five finishes in just six tournaments throughout the spring season.
The Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship location site will play host for the eighth time in conference history (1997-2002, ?04, ?07). The course opened in 1935 with J.D. Loudabarger serving as tournament director. The defending champion is Oklahoma, while the defending medalist is University of Texas golfer Matthew Rosenfeld.
OklahomaState leads the league with four crowns while Texas has captured three league championships, followed by Baylor, Kansas and Oklahoma with one title each. The first-day pairings for the 2007 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship have been determined by a poll voted on by the league's head coaches. The tournament will consist of a total of 54 holes to be played over two days with 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 on Tuesday. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday following the final round.
Teams will tee off the first and 10th tees at 8 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. each day. Pairings for the first round include Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Texas teeing off No. 1 at 8 a.m. followed by Texas Tech, Baylor and Kansas at 8:50 a.m. Colorado, Nebraska and Oklahoma will begin on the 10th tee at 8 a.m. followed by Iowa State, Missouri and KansasState at 8:50 a.m.
Pairings for the second round of the first day will remain the same, but will switch starting tees. The second round is scheduled to begin five hours after the first-round tee times. Second day pairings will be based on first day results and placed in a horseshoe arrangement.

Four Seniors Lead Huskers into Conference Play
Four seniors make up the five-man squad that will head into competition at the Prarie Dunes Golf, led by senior and Omaha native Brady Schnell.
Schnell enters the tournament with a 72.48 stroke average through 31 rounds, which a low round of 67 shot at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate.
Senior Ty Capps is next for the Huskers, entering conference play with a 75.10 stroke average through 31 rounds. Capps shot a low round of 69 at both the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate and the Ron Moore Invitational.
Freshman Jamie Marshall is third for the Huskers, posting a 75.41 stroke average through 27 rounds with a low round of 70 shot at the Wichita State Invitational.
Senior Drew Reynolds ranks fourth on the Husker squad with a 75.78 stroke average through 31 rounds, including a low round of 67 shot at the Ron Moore Invitational.
Senior Ryan Lenahan rounds out the starting squad with a 76.35 stroke average through 31 rounds, with a low round of 71 shot at the Wichita State Invitational.
Sophomore Trent Price has also posted a 77.00 stroke average through four rounds, with a low round of 75 shot at the Louisiana Tech Invitational, while sophomore Chris Bruening also has a 74.67 stroke average through three rounds played at the Wichita State Invitational, where he additionally shot a career-low round of 70.
Huskers Post 16th-place Finish at Palisades Invitational
Charlotte, N.C. ? Senior Brady Schnell led the Nebraska men's golf team for the fifth spring tournament as the Huskers to a 16th-place spot in a field of 18 at the Palisades Collegiate Golf Classic at the par-72, 6,797 yard Palisades Golf Course in Charlotte, N.C. The Huskers finished with a total score of 901 (304-293-304). Schnell fired a four-under par 212 (71-69-72), leaving the Omaha native in a tie for 10th individually.
Schnell additionally tied for fourth in the tournament individually in par-three scoring, finishing at one-under par, as well as fifth in par-five scoring, finishing at five-under par. Schnell aslo snagged 17 birdies, tying him for second in the tournament.
Freshman Jamie Marshall was next for the Huskers, finishing with a total of 220 (74-72-74) to stand in a tie for 37th individually. Marshall was additionally tied for fourth individually in the tournament in par-three scoring, finishing at one-under par, while also tying for second in the tournament in pars with 38.
Senior Ty Capps was third for the Huskers, finishing with a total of 233 (76-80-77), placing him in a tie for 83rd individually. Senior Ryan Lenahan was next for the Huskers with a 237 (84-72-81), placing him in a tie for 89th individually. Senior Drew Reynolds rounded out the squad with a 256 (83-84-89), leaving him in 98th place individually. Charlotte won the tournament with a total score of 849 (280-283-286).
Huskers Post Seven Top-Five Finishes Throughout Spring
Irving, Texas?The Big 12 Conference has named 34 student-athletes to the 2007 Academic All-Big 12 Men’s Golf Team, the league office announced, with Nebraska placing a total of four men’s golf student-athletes on the squad, including three first-team selections.
The men’s golf team boasts four seniors on the team, led by the squad’s three first-team selections, including Ty Capps, a political science major from Highlands, Ranch, Colo., Ryan Lenahan, a sociology major from Gross Pointe Shores, Mich., and Brady Schnell, a political science major from Omaha, Neb. Drew Reynolds, a communication studies major from Lee’s Summit, Mo., was additionally chosen as second-team.

Nominated by each institution’s director of student-athlete support services and the media relations offices, the academic all-league men’s golf squad consisted of 30 first team members combined with four on the second team. First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA, and the second team are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
To qualify student athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of his team’s scheduled contests. Freshman and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
