Lincoln-The Nebraska women’s rifle team was presented the 13th annual Herman Award at the University of Nebraska Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Banquet on Sunday, April 16. The Herman Award, named after the Dick and Dale Herman families, honors two teams with the highest grade point averages.
The rifle team earned the Herman Award for the first time, edging out the volleyball, tennis and golf teams. Coach Launi Meili's team posted a 3.675 cumulative grade-point average.
The men's cross country squad earned the Herman Award for the sixth time, posting a 3.096 team GPA.
