Huskers in 14th through First Day of Palisades Collegiate Golf Classic

Charlotte, N.C. ? Senior Brady Schnell led the Nebraska men's golf team for the fourth straight spring tournament, leaving the Huskers to a 14th-place spot in a field of 18 through the first day of competition at the Palisades Collegiate Golf Classic at the par-72, 6,797 yard Palisades Golf Course in Charlotte, N.C. The Huskers finished the first day with a total score of 597 (304-293).

Schnell fired a four-under par 140 (71-69), leaving the Omaha native in a tie for fifth individually. Schnell was additionally in a tie for fifth individually in par-five scoring, standing at four-under par while also tying for third in the tournament in birdies with 11.

Freshman Jamie Marshall was next for the Huskers, finishing with a total of 146 (74-72) to stand in a tie for 31st individually. Marshall fired a one-under par 70 in the first round as well. Marshall was additionally tied for second individually in the tournament in par scoring, snagging 27.

Senior Ryan Lenahan (84-72) and senior Ty Capps (76-80) stand in a tie for third for the Huskers with a 156 total, leaving the pair in a tie for 79th individually.  Senior Drew Reynolds rounds out the squad with a 167 (83-84), leaving him in a tie for 98th individually.

As a team, the Huskers were in sixth place in the tournament in par-three scoring at just seven over. The team will finish the tournament with the third and final round with fixed tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CST Tuesday morning. The leads the tournament with a 579 (287-292).
