Offensive line prospect Marcel Jones is the tallest member of Nebraska's 2007 recruiting class, checking in at 6-7 and 300 pounds. Jones is part of an impressive group of prep standouts joining the Nebraska program from the state of Arizona. Jones is one of five signees from the Grand Canyon State, the Huskers' largest ever group from that state. Jones is a raw talent who had an outstanding senior year on the offensive line for Coach Randy Ricedorff at Trevor Browne High School. Jones missed his junior year because of injury, but earned honorable-mention Arizona 5A all-state honors as a senior. Jones is ranked as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, which lists him as the 13th-best overall prospect in the state of Arizona. Jones is also ranked as a three-star performer by Scout.com, who lists him as the No. 44 offensive tackle prospect in the country. Jones is ranked as the No. 7 overall recruit in the state of Arizona by SuperPrep Magazine. Jones is also a standout on the basketball court for Trevor Browne High. He is the starting center for a team that had a 20-2 record and was ranked in the top 10 in Class 5A through early February. Jones averages about 12 points and eight rebounds per contest. As a junior, he earned all-region honors for his perfomance on the hardwood. Jones is also a star in the classroom, ranking in the top 20 of his senior class of more than 500 students. Jones chose Nebraska over Arizona State. He is the son of Ulysses and Tracy Torry and was born on Sept. 4, 1988. <?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
