Huskers Stand in Ninth Through Day One

San Antonio, Texas - Senior Brady Schnell led the Huskers in the first spring tournament of the season with a 147 (73-74) through the first two rounds of the 12th annual UTSA Intercollegiate at the 6,691-yard, par-71 Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas.

The Huskers' total score of 604 (307-297) leaves the team in ninth place in a field of 17 through the first two rounds of competition. Schnell's 147 left in him a tie for tenth.

Freshman Jamie Marshall was next for the Huskers after producing a 151 (76-75), leaving him in a tie for 30th.

Seniors Drew Reynolds (81-75), Ty Capps (83-73) and Ryan Lenahan (77-79) are all in a tie for 56th after firing a 156.

The tournament field consists of 17 teams, including 11 from last year’s field and defending champion Baylor. The two-day intercollegiate will host the final 18 holes tomorrow.

Teams participating in this year’s intercollegiate are Air Force, Arkansas State, Baylor, DePaul, Illinois State, Louisiana-Monroe, Marshall, McNeese State, Miami (Ohio), New Orleans, Northern Iowa, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Texas-Pan American and UTSA.
