Springfield, Mo.-Three Huskers dominated the all-tournament team as the Nebraska bowling team placed fourth at the Ozark Invitational on Sunday afternoon. NU held a record of 7-3 and a total pinfall of 7,610 in the two-day event held at Sunshine Lanes in Springfield, Mo.
Redshirt Freshman Cassie Leuthold topped the individual charts, averaging a collegiate-career high of 230. Leuthold's first-place finish earned her a top-spot on the all-tournament team.
Senior Adrienne Miller placed second with a 229 average. Miller's Ozark Invitational finish is the best since her sophomore season, where she placed first with a 229 average at the NCAA Holiday Classic.
Senior Amanda Burgoyne also earned a spot on the all-tournament team with a fourth-place finish and a 224 average.
Each of the eight teams in the Ozark tournament bowled seven regular matches on Saturday before being seeded in a Baker-match bracket on Sunday morning. Although the Huskers held the best pinfall entering the tournament, they were unable to pull ahead in the bracket.
Nebraska competes again on Feb. 3 in a two-day tournament held at Jonesboro, Ark. The Mid-Winter Classic will be NU's fifth tournament of the 2006-07 season.
