The Nebraska women’s tennis team welcomed another player to its 2007-08 freshman class, head coach Scott Jacobson announced this week.
Abby Buxton signed a national letter-of-intent to compete for the Huskers and will join the squad next season.
Buxton, a native of Eden Prairie, Minn., has earned a No. 149 ranking in the USTA girls 18-and-under rankings. A talented player with a great work ethic, Jacobson was thrilled that she chose to become a Husker.
“We are extremely excited that Abby has chosen to be a future member of our Husker family,” Jacobson said. “She has tremendous work ethic, a strong mind and is a tremendous competitor. She will be a tremendous role model for our program and we believe her best tennis is ahead of her.”
