“I thought this was a good start for us tonight,” Head Coach Dan Kendig. “We have shown considerable improvement from the one-arounds we’ve been doing in practice, and this was a great atmosphere for our gymnasts to show off some of the skills they have upgraded this year. Floor and vault were especially good to see tonight; there is a lot of potential there. We still have a lot of work to do before our first meet of the season, but overall, I am encouraged by the performance our team gave.”
Nebraska opens its season at the Super Six Challenge in Fayetteville, Ark., on Jan. 5. Competition is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Arkansas’ Barnhill Arena, and the seventh-ranked Huskers will take on No. 3 Florida, No. 9 LSU, No. 14 Penn State, No. 15 Arkansas and No. 17 Denver.
