Huskers Close Fall Season

Lincoln-After a two-week break, the <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska rifle team is back in action this weekend for its final tournament of the fall season.  The Huskers will begin the long weekend with matches against TexasChristianUniversity and Air Force on Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Cadet Gymnasium Rifle Range in U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. 

Nebraska team members will then compete in the National Team Trials on Dec. 1-3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.  Individuals with the highest scores will earn spots on the National Pan-American rifle team.

NU is meeting Air Force for the second time this season.  The Huskers won the first dual, 4621-4490, on Nov. 19 at the Cadet Gymnasium Rifle Range in U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. Air Force holds a 1-5 record on the season, while TCU is 3-2.

With the first half of their season nearly behind them, the 4-3 Huskers will have nearly two months to train for the spring season, which begins Feb. 10 with a match against Memphis.
