Lincoln -- Nebraska women's tennis coach Scott Jacobson announced Friday that a pair of top-100 rated players have signed letters-of-intent to join the squad for the 2007-08 campaign. Adding experience and quality depth for the Huskers will be the talented duo of Amber Chandronnait and Stephanie Evans.
“We are excited about our team's future with the addition of Stephanie and Amber," Jacobson said. "Both Stephanie and Amber are incredibly talented individuals who fit the mold of our Husker family.”
A native of Bow, N.H., Chandronnait has picked up great experience on the court as she has raced to the No. 1 ranking in juniors tennis in the state of New Hampshire. Chandronnait has also earned a national reputation as she has picked up a No. 81 ranking in the country by tennisrecruiting.net.
Evans gives the Huskers a second top-85 recruit in this class as she has earned a No. 83 national ranking by tennisrecruiting.net. A native of Lebanon, Tenn., Evans is the No. 2-ranked junior in the state.
