Oklahoma State Head Coach Mike Gundy
On the game

“Obviously, that was a lot of fun. It is nice to be here at the podium in this situation. It doesn’t make a difference who you are playing. Our players understand that the most important thing is to play for the respect of the game and for pride. Today they did that. I am proud of them for coming from behind. Everybody on this team had the opportunity to say, ?They are a good football team, and we are behind so let’s just go in the tank’. They didn’t respond that way because of good senior leadership. I have to give a lot of credit to our assistant coaches and the adjustments that they made at halftime. This is a good day for Oklahoma State. I am proud to wear orange. I am proud of our players. I am proud for the Oklahoma State faithful in the sea of orange out there that say ?No matter what, we are behind you all the way’. As an alum and as a former player, I am proud to stand up here today and say that we got it done.”

On sophomore quarterback Bobby Reid
“Bobby has done a good of keeping his composure all year. He made the big play. Early in the game, we had a busted play, and he kept the ball and ran it down the sidelines 50 or 60 yards. That changed the game for us. That gave us an opportunity to say ?Now we can score, and if we stop them we will have a chance’.”

On the play of the running backs
“Dantrell (Savage) made a nice spin move today that looked a lot like (Barry Sanders). He has continued to play well. (Keith Toston) came in and played well today. He took good care of the football. (Mike Hamilton) also did a good job when he was in there and did just what we asked him to do. We are fortunate to have three capable guys and as the season goes on, we are going to need all three of them.”

On the play of the defense
“I have to give credit to the defensive staff and their haftime adjustments. The defense ran some different schemes in the second half to slow down the run. Late in the game, we put a lot of pressure on a very good quarterback. I was particularly pleased with the way that Coach (Vance) Bedford handled the last few minutes, putting pressure on the them. We went after the quarterback and played well enough in the secondary to do that. Our guys will gain a lot of confidence from today’s game.”
