Huskers Head to Georgia Tech Invite

The Nebraska men's tennis team will continue fall tournament play at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational at the Bill Moore Tennis Center in Atlanta, Ga., Friday. Both singles and doubles play will begin on Friday, Oct.6 and end on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Competing this weekend are seniors Sean Coetzee, James Clow and Adrian Szatmary, juniors Karl Jones and Mark Tate, sophomore Hendrik Stahmer, along with freshmen Brett Tesmer and Francois VanImpe.

The tournament will feature two 32-player singles flights and two 16-team doubles flights with players from 15 schools.  Following the first round of both singles flights, two consolation draws will be created for players that have lost their first round matches.

Last year at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational, Clow and Szatmary competed in the Flight "A" singles draw coming away with 1-2, and 1-1 records, respectively.  Clow and Szatmary also competed as a team in the Flight "A" doubles draw, producing a win in the first round and a loss to the tournament's No. 3 seed in the second round.

Competing for the Huskers in the Flight "B" singles draw were Coetzee and Jones.  Coetzee went 1-1, and Jones finished with an 0-2 record.

The draws for this year's tournament have not yet been announced but will be available on Georgia Tech's website at www.ramblinwreck.com.
