The new Nebraska men’s basketball staff will host a free coaches clinic at the BobDevaneySportsCenter this Saturday, Oct. 7.
The clinic will provide the first opportunity for basketball coaches from all levels to get an inside look into the Husker program and interact with the first-year staff under the direction of Coach Doc Sadler.
Members of the Husker coaching staff, including Sadler, will be on hand for drills and discussion sessions during the clinic, which begins at 9 a.m. on the main floor at the DevaneyCenter. Following lunch, Nebraska coaches will have an open question-answer session and will talk more about offensive and defensive philosophy.
Coaches can still preregister this week by contacting the basketball office at 402-472-2265 or by email at eshutts@huskers.com. Day-of-clinic registration is also available beginning at 8:30 a.m. Coaches should sign-in or register on the south side of the Devaney Center on the lower level near the basketball offices.
On Saturday, coaches are asked to park in the Jacobs Lot across from the Devaney Center, directly south of Court Street. Per NCAA rules, lunch will not be provided, but can be purchased separately for $7 at the sign-in table before the start of the clinic.
Practice for the regular season begins Friday, Oct. 13, at the Big Red Tipoff at the Devaney Center. The Husker men's and women's teams will be introduced that evening and the men will hold a full-scale practice. A 3-point contest with fan interaction and a carnival on the concourse will also be featured, while the first 5,000 fans through the doors will get a free Wimmer's hot dog and Pepsi product.
