Former Husker All-American Anne Steffan, playing professionally for the Chicago Bandits of the National Pro Fastpitch League, was one of 19 selections to the All-NPF team.
Steffan finished second in the league with a .400 batting average while leading the Bandits to a league-best 30-12 record in the regular season. Chicago's season ended on Saturday with a 1-0 loss to Akron in the semifinals of the NPF Championship Series.
A native of Mankato, Minn., Steffan's .472 on-base percentage also ranked second in the NPF among all players with at least 50 at bats. Steffan, one of the fastest players in Nebraska history, also finished third in the league standings with 11 stolen bases.
In Steffan's two years with the Bandits, she has stolen 34 bases, the most by any Bandit player in history. Steffan was also named All-NPF in 2005, her first season of professional ball.
Steffan was joined this season in Chicago by former Huskers Nicole Trimboli and Peaches James.
