Huskers in 19th Place through First Round of NCAA Central Regional

Chardon, Ohio - The Nebraska men's golf team shot a 306 to remain in a tie for 19th place through the first round of the NCAA Central Regional at the challenging Sand Ridge Golf Club Chardon, Ohio on Thursday.

 

Junior Drew Reynolds led the Husker lineup with a four-over par 75. Reynolds' round included a strong finish as he was just one-over par on the back nine, shooting two birdies for a final total of four.

 

Junior Ryan Lenahan was next for the Huskers with a 76, while senior Judd Cornell was just behind him with a 77. Junior Brady Schnell shot a 78 to round out the Huskers' scoring lineup.

 

Junior transfer Ty Capps finished in fifth for the Huskers with an 83.

 

Oklahoma State leads the NCAA Central Regional with a four-under par 280. Northwesternis in second with a three-under par 281, while Texas A&M holds the third spot with an even-par 281. Duke and Lamar are tied for fourth with a two-over par 286 to round out the top five teams.

 

Named the 52nd best golf course in America by Golf Digest in 2005, the Tom Fazio-designed Sand Ridge plays as a 7,173-yard, par-71 (35-36), with the sixth hole being converted from a par 5 to a 485-yard par 4.
