No. 35 Colorado Defeats Huskers

Boulder, Colo. - The No. 53 Nebraska men's tennis team was defeated by No. 35 Colorado, 7-0, Sunday, in Boulder, Colo., at the Millennium Hotel Harvest House, in the first of five matches against ranked opponents.

The Huskers slipped to 10-8 (0-3, Big 12) on the season while the Buffaloes improve to 12-5 and remain undefeated (3-0, Big 12) in conference play.

In doubles, senior Joerg Barthel and junior Adrian Szatmary were dealt their first conference loss of the season, losing to Chad Tsuda and Jan Zelezny in the No. 2 spot, 8-5. 

Following doubles play, senior Jerry Posch pushed his match against Eric Molnar into three sets, but fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, in the top singles spot.  Junior James Clow faced No. 121 Peter Bjork at the No. 2 spot, falling 6-1, 7-5.  Freshman Hendrik Stahmer forced Mark Dvorak into three sets at the No. 6 spot, but fell 3-6, 6-2, 1-0.

The Huskers return to face No. 3 Texas in Lincoln, Neb., at the Nebraska Tennis Center, April 7, at 2 p.m.
