Huskers in Third at Dick Witcoff/South Florida Invitational

<?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Tampa, Fla.-Junior Drew Reynolds led the Huskers to a third-place tie through the second day of competition at the Dick Witcoff/South Florida Invitational at the par-71, 6,830-yard course at the University of South Florida Golf Course in Tampa, Fla.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>

 

The Huskers posted a team score of 298 through the second 18 holes, leaving them with a score of 586 and just five strokes out of first place.

 

Junior Drew Reynolds led NU on the second day with a 75, pushing his score through two rounds to a team-leading 144 (69-75) and placing him in a tie for fifth.

 

Junior Brady Schnell struggled on the second round, finishing with an 80 to rank second on the Husker lineup through two rounds with a score of 147 (67-80), leaving him in tie for 15th.

 

Junior Ryan Lenahan continued to remain consistent, finishing with a 74 for a total of 149 (75-74).

 

Senior Judd Cornell shot the best second round for the Huskers with a 72, leaving him with a total of 151 (79-72) through two rounds and in a tie for 33rd.

 

Junior Ty Capps rounded out the Huskers with his second 77 to finish with 154 through two rounds (77-77).

 

The University of New Orleans stands in first place with a 581 (291-290), while MiddleTennesseeState stands in second with a total score of 582 (288-295). Jacksonville St. finished in fourth place with a score of 595 (303-292), while Missouri St. (298-298) finished with a score of 596 to round out the top five.

 

The Huskers follow Friday’s action with the third and final round of 18 holes on Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Dick Wittcoff/South Florida Invitational at the University of South Florida Golf Course.
