Omaha, NE ? Omaha native Kyle Peterson, who serves as a College World Series analyst for ESPN, will join the broadcast team as an analyst for Saturday’s 12:05 p.m. Husker baseball game against the University of Kansas at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park in Lincoln.

Peterson, a former all-state pitcher at Omaha’s Creighton Prep High School, was named College Freshman of the Year in 1995 by Baseball America while pitching for Stanford University. Peterson pitched for two years with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Peterson is known by sports fans as one of the commentators for the EA Sports NCAA baseball video game.

On Saturday, Peterson will join Paul Meyers, analyst; Greg Sharpe, play by play; and Damon Benning, field reporter. The game, produced by Cox Communications, will be broadcast live on Cox Channel 2.

Saturday’s game is part of a new agreement between Cox Communications and the University of Nebraska Athletic Department for baseball television coverage this season. Cox will make available all six Husker baseball games to Cox systems in the opposing teams’ states and will also market the games to other cable systems within the state of Nebraska.
