Nashville, Tenn.-The No. 1 Nebraska bowling team continued their winning streak, as they claimed their seventh season title of the season at the Vanderbilt Invitational on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers rolled a total pinfall of 9,670 to secure the win in the two-day event held at AMF PLA MOR Lanes. Following NU was Central Missouri State, which finished second with a total pinfall of 9,496.
“This tournament had a tough field of competitors,” Nebraska Coach Bill Straub said. “We were very happy to get this win.”
Leading the Huskers was sophomore Lindsay Baker, who held a 228 average over nine games for a second-place finish. Baker was one of three Huskers to post a top-10 finish, as junior Amanda Burgoyne finished third with a 225 average. Junior Adrienne Miller finished ninth with a 215 average.
The Huskers wrap up their regular season schedule at the Brunswick Invitational on March 25-26. The event will be held at Brunswick Zone Fountain Square in Chicago, Ill.

Huskers Remain in Top-Spot, Unanimously
The National Tenpin Coaches Association voted to keep the Nebraska bowling team at the No. 1 position in the second installment of ratings released over the weekend. Nebraska received all 14 first-place votes in this week's poll.
Fairleigh-Dickinson University maintained the No. 2 ranking, while Central Missouri State stayed in the third place slot.
The next poll will be conducted during the last week of March and released the first week in April.
