The Huskers were among the eight chosen teams in both disciplines along with Alaska-Fairbanks, Army, Kentucky, MurrayState, Mississippi and Navy. JacksonvilleState rounded out the top eight smallbore teams, while Nevada qualified in air rifle. The overall team winner will be determined based on the aggregate score from both disciplines.
This is the third consecutive NCAA Championship berth for the Huskers, who finished third overall last season behind Army and Alaska-Fairbanks. The finish tied for the best in school history.
The 2006 NCAA Championships begin on March 10 with air rifle and continue on March 11 with smallbore.
The undefeated Huskers travel to the Ole Miss campus this weekend in Oxford, Miss., to defend their title as Great America Rifle Conference team champions.
