Las Vegas, Nev. ?Despite a rough start on Saturday, the Husker bowling team captured its third consecutive title at the Brunswick Coca-Cola Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday afternoon. The Huskers finished with a 9-1 record over the two-day event held at the Gold Coast Bowling Center.
Sophomore Lindsay Baker contributed to the Husker victory, placing third with a 194 average. Junior Adrienne Miller rounded out the top five with a 189 average. Junior Amanda Burgoyne held a 188 average for a seventh-place finish, while senior Karla Engh finished eighth with a 186. Senior Jamie Martin finished 12th with a 176 average.
“We sat in fourth or fifth place all day Saturday,” Coach Bill Straub said. “However, we were able to turn around today and pull out the win.”
The Huskers travel to Jonesboro, Ark., next weekend to compete in the Arkansas State Invitational. The event will be held in the JonesboroBowlingCenter.
