San Antonio, Texas ? The No. 1 ranked Nebraska volleyball team will play in the second national semifinal on Thursday, Dec. 15, beginning at 8:30 p.m. (central) at the Alamodome.
The Huskers (32-1) will take on Santa Clara (27-4) in the evening’s second match of the night, which will be shown live on ESPNU (Ch. 609 on DirecTV; Ch. 148 on DISH Network) and tape-delayed on Friday, Dec. 16, at 1p.m. (central). The Huskers will be making their ninth trip to the NCAA National Semifinals and first since the 2001 season after sweeping Florida, 3-0, in front of an NCAA postseason record crowd of 15,119 at the Qwest Center Omaha on Saturday.
Santa Clara makes its first trip to the national semifinals, as they defeated No. 5 Arizona, 3-2, late Saturday evening. The Broncos have beaten three straight ranked teams, including No. 5 Stanford, No. 19 Pepperdine and the fifth-ranked Wildcats.
The evening’s first semifinal will be at 6 p.m. between Washington (30-1) and Tennessee (25-8) will also be shown on ESPNU with a tape-delayed broadcast on ESPN2.
