NU Wrestling Opens 2005-06 Season

Husker fans can get a sneak peek of the 2005-06 Nebraska wrestling team on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. at the BobDevaneySportsCenter for the Husker wrestle-offs.  Admission is free and fans are asked to enter the DevaneyCenter through the North doors.

 

Along with the wrestling action, fans can meet former national champion and national team wrestler Brad Vering.  Vering, a three-time All-American and the 2000 national champion at 197 pounds, will sign autographs on the concourse at the conclusion of the wrestle-offs.

 

The Huskers are ranked 17th in the NWCA/Intermat Division I Coaches Poll.  A pair of All-Americans, 174-pound wrestler Jacob Klein and 197-pounder B.J. Padden, are ranked among the top four in their respective weight classes.

 

The wrestle-offs begin Nebraska’s 2005-06 season.  The Huskers’ first dual is at the NU Coliseum on Friday, Nov. 18 as they take on BoiseState at 7 p.m.
