  • <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Oklahoma moves to 5-3 on the year and will have a bye this week. The Sooners will be back in action in Norman on Nov. 12 against Texas A&M.
  • Oklahoma now leads the all-time series 42-37-3 and claimed its first victory in Lincoln since a 17-7 victory over NU in 1987. It also marked Bob Stoops first victory at Memorial Stadium.
  • Oklahoma has now won is last 12 straight regular season contests against the Big 12 North Division, dating back to the
  • Sooners’ last trip to Nebraska in 2001 when the Huskers prevailed, 20-10.
  • The last time Oklahoma scored 17 or more points in Lincoln was in 1989 when it suffered a 42-25 loss.
  • Adrian Peterson’s 36-yard TD run at 12:14 in the first quarter marked the fourth time the Sooners have scored on their opening offensive possession. The others came against TCU, UCLA and Kansas.
  • Linebacker Lamont Robinson made his debut on special teams and became the 13th true freshman to play this season.
  • OU’s fourth down conversion in the second quarter marked its fifth straight conversion. The Sooners are currently 7-of-10 this season on fourth-down conversions.
  • Chijioke Onyenegecha’s 63-yard interception return for a TD marked the third time this year Oklahoma has returned an
  • interception for a score. Clint Ingram (48 yards) did it against Tulsa and D.J. Wolfe (65 yards) ran one back against Kansas. It marked the 21st time under head coach Bob Stoops the Sooners have recorded a defensive touchdown.
  • With its two interceptions against Nebraska, Oklahoma now has eight on the season through eight games equaling last year’s season total of eight in 13 games.
  • OU’s fake field goal for a first down in the fourth quarter marked its third time in the last four games that OU has faked a kick and gained a first down as a result.
  • Oklahoma recorded nine sacks against Nebraska, marking its highest total this season. The previous season high was five

     

    against Kansas earlier this season.

 

Individual Notes

 

  • Sophomore running back Adrian Peterson made an appearance back in the starting lineup after missing the last three starts.

Adrian Peterson

  • Peterson’s 36-yard TD run on his second play from scrimmage totaled more yards than his last four games combined.
  • Peterson did not play against Baylor but tallied four yards on 16 rushes against Kansas State, Texas and Kansas.
  • Peterson recorded his sixth multi-touchdown game of his career, including the second this season.
  • With 146 rushing yards in the game, Peterson collected his second 100-yard plus game of the season and the 13th of his career. In addition, he moved into sixth on the OU career list, tying Greg Pruitt’s (1970-72) mark.
  • Peterson moved to No. 11 on the OU career rushing list with 2,469 yards. He passed Jim Grisham (2,404 yards), Spencer
  • Tillman (2,425), Kenny King (2,431) and James Allen (2,438).

 

Dusty Dvoracek

  • Dusty Dvoracek recorded three tackles for loss in the game, setting his career mark at 40. He is now tied with Lee RoySelmon, Tony Casillas and Darrell Reed in the No. 7 spot on the OU career list for tackles for loss by a lineman.
  • Dvoracek collected his first career interception in the third quarter.

 

Malcolm Kelly

  • Kelly exceeded his career high for receptions with eight. His previous mark was five. Kelly also surpassed his previous
  • career yardage (65 vs. Kansas) with 86 receiving yards today.
  • In addition, Kelly’s exceeded the most number of receptions for a Sooner this season. Travis Wilson recorded seven receptions against UCLA.

 

Kejuan Jones

  • Jones’ 17-yard TD run marked his 35th career rushing touchdown, tying J.C. Watts’ (1976-80) career mark which ranks sixth on the all-time career list.

 

Garrett Hartley

  • Hartley made his second field goal of 50 or more yards this season with a 50-yarder in the third quarter. Hartley nailed a 52-yarder against Texas earlier this season.
  • Hartley’s 50-yarder is the longest in history against Nebraska. The previous was Uwe Von Schamann’s (1977) 45-yarder.

Travis Wilson

  • Wilson snagged his 100th career reception in the first quarter and now has 102 career catches.

 

Chijioke Onyenegecha

Recorded first career interception and touchdown with 63-yard interception return in the second quarter.
