The field was featured on the cover of the magazine under the headline- Flat-out winner: <?xml:namespace prefix="st1" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags"?>Nebraska’s softball field. The two-page, full-color spread included an interview with Jennifer Roeber, NU’s Assistant Athletic Turf Manager.
The article focused on Roeber’s caretaking, as well as specific features of the field such as the type of grass (Kentucky bluegrass blend of Arcadia, Award, NuGlade and Freedom II) and also talked about the unique SubAir system that separates Bowlin Stadium from other fields across the nation. The SubAir system offers sub-surface heating so the field can be used earlier in the season than other fields.
