The loss dropped NU to 9-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in the Big 12. Texas improved to 8-6-1 and 5-3-0 in the conference.

The loss was the Huskers’ second overtime contest of the season and first setback in an overtime game since a 3-2 double-overtime loss at Texas on Oct. 26, 2003.

The game’s lone goal came when Carpenter made a run in the box and attempted to send a cross into the center of the box. Instead of finding a teammate, Carpenter’s cross snuck just inside the near post for the game-winning goal at 96:36.

In an evenly played match, UT outshot the Huskers, 22-13, but each team placed eight shots on goal. Junior Brittany Timko led the Nebraska offensive attack with five shots, while freshman Aysha Jamani took four shots. Jamani placed three shots on goal to pace the Huskers, while fellow freshman Lauren Isenhower and Timko each fired two shots on goal.

In net, Klages made six saves, while allowing just one goal. For Texas, Dianna Pfenninger stopped eight Husker shots en route to posting the shutout.

Nebraska returns home next Friday for a 4 p.m. match with Oklahoma. The game will be televised by NET2 in Nebraska and CSTV nationally. The game will also be video streamed for free on HuskersNSide.
