On whether the win helps relieve pressure

“Oh yeah definitely.  It gives us more confidence heading into Texas Tech.  We'll be more motivated going into that game.

On playing Texas Tech

“Right now we're focusing on Texas Tech.  We start tomorrow and we're looking forward to having a great game."

On the significane of playing Texas Tech
“That game has been in the back of our minds since the last time we went down there and played them."

Nebraska Linebacker Corey McKeon

On the performance of the offensive line

"I was sitting there watching them pick up the blitz the whole game and I actually wanted to be a running back just to watch them do that.  It was awesome.  I couldn't believe it.  IowaState tried to bring heat on them and they would not let them in.  What happened is it gave Zac (Taylor) the time he needed to make big plays and then the wide receivers  could make big plays.  Overall a great game."

On stopping IowaState's last drive

Defense was just getting together and thinking about love, trust and belief; the things Coach Callahan teaches us.  That's the first thing that we said.  Grant Mulkey came in and he said some things and he's a really emotional guy and he got into us and we just went out and looked at each other and said 'Let's get this crowd into it and let's play'."

On the overtime

"You don't like to cut games that close, but if I knew we were going to win everytime then sure, let's do a couple overtimes."

On what he learned from a game like this

"You learn to perservere.  We knew were going to face some adversity and we came out and stayed together as a team and that's all you can ask for from a team."

On the Black Out

"I loved it.  The fans were into it and as long as they're into it we get more excited.  I appreciate the support.  We have the best fan base in the world.

Nebraska Defensive End Jay Moore

On team unity developing with back-to-back emotional wins
"It's amazing how close we're coming together. I think the main thing is in the locker room after the game, everyone's hugging each other, guys have tears in their eyes. We love each other so much on this team. We're just so happy and so thankful that we can come up with wins like this. [The coaches] were just as emotional as everyone else. They were hugging, picking up guys. They're one of us too; we're all one unit, and we just mesh so well together with the coaches."

On IowaState quarterback Bret Meyer
"He was very elusive. Always when you face a good athlete like that, it's going to help you -- especially with your front four with contained rush. That's always a huge key to winning a football game, containing the quarterback."

On gaining momentum for the rest of the season

"What we talked about a lot this week is perservering. We're just fighting through every bad situation of adversity. We have so much faith and so much love for each other that we're going to continue to do this. We're never going to give up because we know we put in too much work this offseason and in fall camp to ever give up."

Nebraska Quarterback Zac Taylor

On throwing for over 400 yards

"I've never thrown the ball that many times in my life."

On the offensive line

"They did an outstanding job."

On the difference in the offense

"Coach Callahan has been telling us for two weeks that we were going to get together and throw the ball more.  We didn't necessarily tell everyone that, but the players knew it.  We've been working on it the last two weeks."

On the receivers getting open on the underneath routes

"It's just the way IowaState was playing it.  They were trying to flush out their zones and there were going to be guys wide open.  It just kind of worked out and we had guys open."

On throwing to 10 different receivers

"We've got great receivers.  We've got more receivers than those 10 that can catch the ball.  We just had guys make some plays and we could count on them."

On the second overtime

"We knew after we scored that first touchdown that we were going to put it in on the second one.  There was no doubt in our minds.  We just wanted to make sure we got seven and not three.  We were in a good situation and it worked out just the way we wanted it to."

On receivers dropping a few passes

"A dropped ball is going to happen.  It happens.  I made some bad passes.  Everyone just kind of stepped up when we needed them to and won a great game."

On the miscommunication between Taylor and Cory Ross

"It was just kind of miscommunication on which way we were supposed to go.  It was supposed to be a handoff at the line and it didn't work out.  I probably should have just taken the ball and got what I could, but I didn't.  Luckily we were able to win the game and we overcame the mistake."

On how he feels now

"I'm tired.  It was a long game and I had a lot of plays out there.  We've got one or two days off now so I'm just going to go home and get rested up for Texas Tech next week."

On today's win
"It's the greatest feeling in the world coming off that field. It's the greatest the game I've ever played in, and I had so much fun. We're all exhausted now, but we're 4-0, 1-0 in Big 12, so that's all we can ask for."

On the mindset going into overtime
“We knew we could score. There was no doubt about it. When IowaState scored first, there was pressure on us to get the ball in the end zone. After we scored in that first overtime, we knew we were going to score in the second overtime. There was no doubt in our minds. We just had to get it done, and we put the defense in a good situation to step up like they always do."

Nebraska Wide Receiver Nate Swift

On making his first catch

"I've been hoping for it.  I knew a catch was going to come.  I just wanted to get that under my belt.  It came quick in the second half when I didn't know it was going to come at all.  It was good.  I really got me going and got our offense going too I think."

On his shoulder injury

“It didn't really set me back that much.  For the first couple of games I had to wear a brace and it kind of held my arm down, but I got rid of this week actually.  This is the first game I haven't had it and I think that helped out a lot."

On Nebraska's wide receivers

“I think all of our receivers definitely stepped up.  I think Zac (Taylor) stepped up.  And our O-line, you've got to give it to our O-line because they were providing a lot of protection for the quarterback and picking up all of the blitzes.  Everyone was doing the right things.

On the offense's performance

I think we left a lot of points out on the field tonight.  We had a couple dropped balls that could have gone for big gains so we definitely left a lot out on the field that hopefully we'll pick up next time.

On having a breakout game

"The first half didn't go too well, but the team was passing great the first half. The second half we knew we were going to come out and just keep passing it. I found a route for me that worked, and luckily Coach Callahan called it a couple more times so I could get a couple more catches. It was a good game all around."

On being part of a big game

"It was great. I've scored touchdowns before, but even though I didn't have a touchdown this game, it was probably the greatest game I've ever been involved with, just being able to contribute to the game and having a catch and helping us win."

On Zac Taylor's performance

"[I'd rate it a] 10; right on. He does that every day, and I know it hasn't shown up in the games, but he does that every day. That's how good he is, and that's how good our offense can be. Hopefully we can just keep this going for the rest of our games."

On the mindset going into the game

"We wanted to go out there and throw it. We knew they could throw it. We knew our defense was going to shut them down. Our defense was great. We went out there knowing we were going to throw it, and Zac and everyone came together and made good plays. This was our turning point, and it was a great win for the team and the state."
