Huskers to Face Sooners on ESPN2

Lincoln - The Nebraska women's basketball team added another nationally televised game to its schedule on Monday, when the Big 12 Conference announced that the Huskers' game at Oklahoma on Sunday, Feb. 26, will be carried live by ESPN2 at 1 p.m.

The Huskers, who are coming off back-to-back postseason tournament bids under fourth-year head coach Connie Yori, will be making their first appearance on an ESPN network since Feb. 13, 2000.  Nebraska defeated Kansas 75-72 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln in its last ESPN2 appearance. 

Nebraska's game with Oklahoma is one of nine Big 12 games scheduled to be carried by ESPN2 this season. The Huskers tied the Sooners for sixth place in the league's final standings in 2005, including a 70-51 victory over Oklahoma in a Fox Sports Net nationally televised game last season on Feb. 6.

Overall, the Big 12 announced it will have 35 games featuring league teams televised nationally by ESPN2 (9) and FSN (26).  Nebraska will be a part of four of those nationally televised games, as the Huskers will appear on FSN at Texas Tech (Jan. 21, 5 p.m.), at Kansas State (Feb. 4, 7 p.m.) and at home against Texas A&M (Feb. 11, 1 p.m.).

Nebraska will tip off its 2005-06 season with "Husker Madness" at the Devaney Center on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.  The special event will include a "Select Your Seat" opportunity for women's basketball season ticket holders to purchase their tickets and choose the seat they want to watch the Huskers in 2005-06.  The Nebraska men's basketball team will join the women's team to create a family-friendly night of fun, featuring a three-point contest, a dunk competition and appearances by Lil' Red, Herbie Husker, the Nebraska Spirit Squad and the Nebraska band.

The Huskers open exhibition play with Nebraska-Omaha at the Devaney Center on Monday, Oct. 31 at 7:05 p.m., before tipping off the regular season against South Dakota State at the Devaney Center on Saturday, Nov. 19 at Noon in Lincoln.
