Four Women's Tennis Players Named Academic All-Big 12

The No. 31 Nebraska women's tennis team had four members named to the academic All-Big 12 teams Tuesday, April 26.  Seniors Gitte Ostermann and Katie Garcia and junior Milena Schulz-Gartner were named to the first team, while junior Pamela Castillejos was named to the second team.

The honor marks the fourth time Ostermann has been named to the first team and the first time for three-time captain Garcia, who was a second-team honoree as a junior.  Schulz-Gartner, who was a member of the 2004 Big 12 Commissioner's Spring and Fall Honor Rolls, is a first-time first-team honoree.  This is the second straight year Castillejos has been named to the second team.

First-team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better grade point average, and second team honorees are those who have a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

There were 33 first-team members and seven second-team members.  Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
