Boulder, Colo. --- The No. 35 Nebraska women's tennis team continued one of its greatest seasons in program history as it edged past No. 62 Colorado, 4-3, Sunday at the South Campus Tennis Courts. The win marked the fifth time this season Nebraska pulled out a one-point victory, including four of the past five conference matchups. After moving the start time up to 9:30 a.m. because of a forecast of rain, the Huskers went down to the end before pulling out the victory to improve to 18-2 on the season and 9-2 in league action. Nebraska moved to 7-2 on the season against ranked teams while the ninth conference win also improved NU's single-season record under Coach Scott Jacobson, which stood at six league wins before this season. With the loss, the host Buffaloes fell to 10-11 on the year and 5-6 in Big 12 play. Becuase of the weather forecast, the match changed formats and began with singles play with each team winning three points. Nebraska picked up wins at the Nos. 1, 3 and 4 slots with No. 36 Gitte Ostermann runing past Lynzee Kever, 6-1, 7-6 (6) at the top spot and Pamela Castillejos taking the point in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, at the No. 4 position. Ostermann improved to 16-3 on the season while Castillejos tops the Huskers with a 19-1 spring singles mark, including a 10-1 record in Big 12 play. At No. 3 singles, Ewelina Skaza also picked up a key victory for the Huskers but needed three sets to earn the win. Skaza dropped the first set 2-6 before cruising in the final two sets, 6-2, 6-2, over Jessica Vanderdys. With the match tied at 3-all, Nebraska needed two wins in doubles play to clinch the match. Colorado won the top spot, but the Huskers came back again with wins at the Nos. 2 and 3 slots, with Skaza and Imke Reimers' 9-7 victory in the second position clinching the point and match. Nebraska returns to action on April 28 when it plays at the Big 12 Championships in Austin, Texas. No. 35 Nebraska 4, No. 62 Colorado 3
