Huskers Win Fourth Title at Bayside Collegiate Classic

The Nebraska women’s bowling team earned its fourth tournament title this season with a win on Sunday at the Bayside Collegiate Classic in Baltimore, Md.  The Huskers lapped the field with a team pinfall of 8,850 to earn the tournament title.  The two-day competition was held at the Brunswick Perry Hall Bowling Facility and featured many of the top collegiate bowling programs in the country.

Sophomore Adrienne Miller led the Huskers by earning her first career tournament title with an average of 208.  Miller has competed in almost every event for the Huskers this season, placing in the top-five in three of five events.

Freshman Lindsay Baker joined Miller on the all-tournament team with a 199 average.  In her first year as a Husker, Baker has had four top-five showings in six events.

“I feel that we did extremely well,” Head Coach Bill Straubsaid.  “Saturday we got off to a shaky start, but we lapped the field on Sunday and did a great job.”

The Huskers are set to compete again on March 5 at the Collegiate Holiday Classic in Birmingham, Ala. The three-day competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.
