Lincoln -- Ten Nebraska gymnasts were honored Wednesday, as they were selected to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Fall Honor Roll. Six gymnasts on the 2005 roster, as well as former Huskers Gina Bruce, Tiffany Byrd, Carrie Gloudemans and Kylie Tanner, were among 257 Nebraska student-athletes who were recognized for their success in the classroom.
Among the honorees during the spring semester is senior Richelle Simpson (French/International Studies), who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Eight of the gymnasts are repeat honorees from Spring 2004.
The Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the previous semester. Nebraska had 257 student-athletes named to the honor roll, including 28 who produced perfect 4.0 grade-point averages during the fall semester.
