Nebraska sophomore Amanda Burgoyne won her second title of the season at Greater Ozark NCAA Invitational in Springfield, Mo., Sunday afternoon. Burgoyne, who now has three career titles, posted a 211 average over 10 games to lead the Huskers to a runner-up finish.
The Huskers finished with a 8-2 record over the two-day tournament for a second-place team finish. Nebraska was 5-0 going into Sunday’s matches, but lost a pair of matches to Central Missouri State, which finished second to Nebraska last last year’s NCAAs.
Joining Burgoyne on the all-tournament team was Adrienne Miller, who finished second with a 198 average through 10 games. Three-time All-American Shannon Pluhowsky finished fourth overall with an average of 197, while freshman
Lindsay Baker (190 average) and Jamie Martin (186) rounded out the Husker lineup.
The Huskers will be in action next weekend, as they travel to Las Vegas for the Brunswick Coca-Cola Classic.
