Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team worked out for two hours Wednesday at Memorial Stadium in preparation for Friday’s contest against Big 12 foe Colorado. The Huskers and Buffaloes will be meeting for the 53rd time in the series, which NU has dominated with a 44-16-2 series advantage.
Despite the cold weather, the Huskers were able to get in a solid practice.
"It was a good, short and crisp practice," said NU Coach Bill Callahan. "We did a lot of red zone and situational things. We just went through a final rehearsal of some situations. But aside from that, we’re ready to go."
Friday’s game will kick off at 11 a.m. and will be seen live by a national audience on ABC.
Due to the early kickoff time and cooler temperatures, The Walk will take place on the south side of the stadium this week. All fans wanting to greet and cheer the team at their arrival are asked to form lines with members of the UNL Marching Band on the south side of the stadium at 8:15 a.m.
The University of Nebraska Cornhusker Marching Band will feature patriotic songs in both their pregame and halftime shows, as part of a special veterans salute on Friday. A moment of silence will be held at the start of the anthem in honor of the 21 Nebraskans who have fallen while defending our country as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Joint Forge. The names of each of the fallen will be scrolled across the big screens during the anthem.
