Lincoln -- The Nebraska volleyball team jumped from third to second in the USA Today/CSTV Coaches poll released Monday afternoon. The Huskers, 25-1 on the season, totaled 1,559 points, including 23 of the 65 first-place votes. NU trails Hawaii (26-0) by only 11 points.
The Huskers are one of five Big 12 teams ranked in this week's poll along with No. 11 Texas, No. 18 Texas A&M, No. 23 Kansas State and No. 24 Missouri. The Huskers, who are riding a 22-match winning streak, were ranked second in the first two national polls before losing to Florida A&M, now ranked 22nd, on Sept. 10.
The Huskers face the No. 11 Longhorns Wednesday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. in a contest televised state-wide on Nebraska Educational Television and tape-delayed nationally in College Sports Television (Thurs. at 7 p.m. central). The match is sold out, the 54th consecutive sellout at the NU Coliseum.
