Lincoln ? The Nebraska soccer team dropped its final regular season game in front of 1,006 fans at the Abbott Sports Complex Friday, losing 2-0 to Colorado.<?xml:namespace prefix="o" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office"?>
The crowd was the third-largest crowd of the season and gave Nebraska 10,749 fans for the season, marking the seventh time in the 11-year history of the program that the Huskers have drawn more than 10,000 fans in a season.
On the field, Colorado only outshot Nebraska, 16-15, and 7-5 on goal, but the Buffaloes were able to convert twice while NU was shut out for the second consecutive game.
Sophomore Katie Wright made five saves in goal for Nebraska, while Jessica Keller, the reigning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week, recorded five saves for CU, en route to posting her fourth straight shutout.
Senior Brooke Bredenberg led the Huskers’ offense with five shots. Before the game, Bredenberg, along with fellow seniors Iman Haynes and Lindsey Ingram were honored in an on-field ceremony. The late Jenna Cooper was also honored before the match.
With the loss, Nebraska ends the regular season with a 12-7 overall record and a 6-4 mark in the Big 12. Colorado improved to 13-4-2 overall and 6-3-1 in league play. The Buffs earned the No. 3 seed for the Big 12 Tournament, while NU fell to the No. 5 seed.
The Huskers face Texas next in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. Game time is unofficially set for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
