1994 National Championship Team Returns to Memorial Stadium

10-Year Anniversary Reunion for 1994 National Championship Team ...
It's Homecoming in Lincoln and in addition to the King and Queen being named at halftime and the beautiful displays by the Greek Fraternities and Sororities on campus, the 1994 National Championship team is in town to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Nebraska's third team national championship. More than 90 members of the '94 team will return to Lincoln for a private dinner on Friday and to be recognized on the field on Saturday. Included in the list of returnees are All-Americans Tommie Frazier, Aaron Graham, Brenden Stai, Ed Stewart, Aaron Taylor and Jared Tomich. The list of dignitaries also includes baseball All-American and current Anaheim Angel Darin Erstad and former coaches Tom Osborne, Charlie McBride, Milt Tenopir and Dan Young.. Several players were unable to come because of professional football obligations including Chris Dishman, Jay Foreman, Barron Miles, Mike Minter, Mike Rucker, Cory Schlesinger, Adam Treu and All-Americans Zach Wiegert and Grant Wistrom. Fans are asked to get to their seats early so they do not miss a very special tribute to the 1994 National Championship Team.

Great Players - Great Fans Promotion...
Bob Terrio made the trip along with his family from his hometown in Ontario, Calif., to be in attendance at the Missouri game, as he and Genee’ (pronounced Jen-NAY) and Norm Godden are the featured Great Players-Great Fans on the Missouri ticket. Terrio earned all-conference honors in 1971 and has two national championship rings, playing for Coach Bob Devaney in 1970 and 1971. Terrio clinched the Husker national championship in the 1971 Orange Bowl against Louisiana State when he intercepted a pass late in the game. Norm and Genee’ are both graduates of the University of Nebraska (1960 and 1966, respectively) and are faithful donors to the athletic program. The Goddens said they continue their support of the Big Red through "thick and thin." Even though they currently live 500 miles from Lincoln in Chicago, that hasn’t stopped the Goddens from returning to Lincoln for most every Husker football game.

Roger Craig ...
The "Great Player" featured on the Colorado ticket is Roger Craig who had an outstanding, yet under publicized career at Nebraska. One of the all-time great Huskers, Craig helped lead NU to two Big Eight Championships before moving on to the NFL where he claimed three Super Bowl titles with the San Francisco 49er's. Roger, who was the first player in NFL history to have both 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in a single season, now resides in Portola Valley, Calif. He will be a featured guest during the 7 p.m. hour on Sports Nightly on Friday evening, and will make separate appearances on Saturday at the University Bookstore (8-9:30 a.m.) and the Husker Nation Pavilion (9:50 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.) to sign copies of his new book, "Roger Craig Tales From the San Francisco 49ers Sidelines."

At the Pavilion ...
This week's game will be televised to a national audience by Fox Sports Net beginning at 11:10 a.m., and as the game is on television, the big screen TV at the Pavilion will be tuned in to the Husker-Tiger matchup, for the entire game. Fans are invited to come early to enjoy local band Hardwood Dash and meet and greet members of the Husker softball teams.

At First-Quarter Break ...
As winners of Big 12 Championships in 2003-04, the Nebraska women’s softball team (won both regular season and postseason tournament) and the men’s and women’s track and field teams (won both indoor championships and the men’s outdoor championship) will be honored at the first-quarter break of Saturday’s game.

At Halftime ...
The exchange of the Nebraska-Missouri Victory Bell will take place at halftime. The two teams have played for the bell every year since 1927. Nebraska's Innocents Society started the exchange of the bell at that time, and the bell is kept by either Nebraska's Innocents Society or the QEBH Society at the University of Missouri.

Saturday's halftime festivities will also include the presentation of the 2004 Nebraska Homecoming Court and the announcement of this year's Homecoming King and Queen.

Following the football game.....
The Nebraska men’s basketball team will make its first appearance on the court at the Devaney Center at 4 p.m. Saturday for the annual Red-White Scrimmage. The Huskers will play a full-court, 40-minute scrimmage. The game will be the first time this season the Huskers, including 10 returning letterwinners and five newcomers, have played in front of Nebraska fans on their home court. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to bring used stuffed animals and dolls to donate to Project Comfort.

Directions to Exit North from Stadium...
In an effort to make Nebraska’s game-day experience as enjoyable as possible, the Nebraska Athletic Department would like to remind football fans who park North of Memorial Stadium and enter through the Northeast or East stadium entrances will find the most convenient exit from the stadium through the Northwest Gates. The Northwest exit is located on field level and provides the easiest access to the walking bridge from the stadium to all North Parking. Fans who come early to enjoy the game-day atmosphere of the Husker Nation Pavilion are reminded that the Pavilion closes at the end of the third quarter.
