Ostermann wins ITA Regional Championships

Tulsa, Okla. ? Gitte Ostermann of the Nebraska women's tennis team won
the singles main draw of the ITA Regional Championships Sunday in Tulsa,
Okla.

Ostermann faced Daniela Muscolino of Tulsa. In the first set, Ostermann
blanked Muscolino, 6-0.  However, Muscolino bounced back to take the
second set, 6-1.  In the third set, Ostermann took control and never
looked back winning, 6-2.

The victory marks the first fall tournament championship won by a
Husker since the Stokstad Invitational Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa in
2002, when the Huskers earned a pair of singles titles and a doubles
championship.

The Huskers will see action again in the ITA National Indoor
Championships which starts on Nov. 4.
