Tulsa, Okla. ? Three members of the Nebraska Women's Tennis team continued to roll in the main draw of the ITA Regional Championships tournament today, Oct. 21, in Tulsa, Okla.
On the Singles court, the Huskers fared well in the first round of the main draw with three members advancing to the field of 32. Pamela Castellejos rebounded after dropping the first set to win in three, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, over Jessica Simosa of Kansas State. Newcomer Imke Reimers continued her momentum by winning in straight sets, while No. 44-ranked Gitte Ostermann also won in straight sets, defeating Kansas's Lauren Hommell, 6-3, 6-1.
The Huskers also found success on the doubles court. Katie Garcia and Castellejos dominated Colorado's Jenny Hanson and Lynzee Kever, 8-2. Ostermann and Reimers also advanced two the field of 32 with a convincing 8-3 victory over Lubica Nadasska and Katka Sevcikova of Missouri.
The Huskers next play Friday, Oct. 22, in the field of 32 in the main draw of the ITA Regional Championships.
