Lincoln - The Nebraska women’s basketball team will tip off its 2004-05 exhibition season by playing host to a special "Haunted Hoops" matchup with Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday, Oct. 31, at 2:05 p.m. at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.
Along with the Huskers taking on the Lopers, the Devaney Center upper concourse will be converted into a fun and safe trick-or-treat street for kids of all ages. Nebraska’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has helped organize the event, which will feature athletes from various Husker teams passing out candy.
In the spirit of the Halloween season, all children wearing a costume and any adults accompanying them will be admitted to the basketball game free of charge.
After the game, children and their accompanying adults will have the opportunity to receive candy from student-athletes.
Nebraska’s game with UNK will be the first opportunity for Husker fans to see the women’s basketball team in action in 2004-05. The Huskers close exhibition play on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2:05 p.m. by taking on Nebraska-Omaha, before opening the regular season in the Preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament against Western Illinois at the Devaney Center on Friday, Nov. 12, at 7:05 p.m.
